*** SEW EASY ***

WOW....I never thought I would use the words easy and sew in the same sentence! BUT, it really was! Avery picked this out while shopping for fabric. She insisted that I get this for her b/c she loooooved it. It already had the tubing part done at the top...sorry, I don't know all the "technical" words yet ;~)
Anyway, all you had to do basically was sew straight down the side and...walla...its done. Although, I did add straps with the left over fabric. Just felt it needed to be held up with little ones. Next time I will add straps that tie (suggested by my friend Janna) b/c I made them a little too long and far apart. You see...I am the type that Does not like to measure...ANYTHING..in my cooking, scrapbooking, sewing, ect....
So, ties would be an easy alternative of not having to measure...and really cute too!!

Well, that is all...just wanted to share. Oh, btw..I made this the morning b/f Avery went to school...that's how fast and easy it was.

Going to Church......

Going to church as a child is a very fond memory of mine. Church has always been apart of my life...I'm not saying that I was always there, but I have been there enough for it to make an impact on my life.

Today, church for me is different from the church growing up. The music, the people, the sermons, the atmosphere. It is not like it used to be....for me. Don't get me wrong, I made the change. However, I can't forget where I came from...so to speak.

This song reminds me of those childhood days of going to church with my Grandma...I love it so much AND it dosen't hurt that Allison Krauss and Gillian Welch are singing it.

Not too shabby...

i made another one....i like the shabby look to this fabric.... And it is reversible with a coordinating stripe fabric that i cut out a pocket for with the other fabric.
i have to say....this sewing thing is a little addicting. i have been studying Avery's clothes trying to see if i could make it. hee!
i also had to make a matching hair clip to go with it......

Weekend recap.....

Planting , planting and more planting.......

Seriously, Eddie the kids and I stayed outside all weekend and it was So nice!!

Finally it feels like Spring!!

So, to start it off right we.......

planted flowers in my pots....

grilled out and the kids played in the fire pit...
made Heather's chicken kabobs.....they were so good and so easy!

took on a "over our head" project and landscaped all around our house.
It was ALOT of work but SO worth it!!

Finally......

I can share some Cabo pictures with you!! We have been having some computer difficulties , AND our whole household has been sick.....I got a nasty head cold when we got back and can't seem to get over it. Everyone else has had the stomach bug. Let me tell ya.....it has not been fun!

Anyways....I can finally overload you with some pictures from our trip

Eddie and I kayaked to "lovers beach" and this picture gives you an idea of about how far it was.... it was definitely a good workout!!!

could the scenery get any better than this???? It was So beautiful and the weather could not have been anymore perfect!



Here's a little fun fact for you that we learned there.... if you are familiar with the arch at Lands End, and if you were like me you always saw pictures of it with sand under it and could actually walk through it.....well, not when we were there...apparently that only happens every 4 yrs and according to our guide we were a year too late! Oh well....guess we will just have to go back in 3yrs so I can walk through the arch :)




This was probably one of the best highlights of the trip for me.....being able to see wild sea lions laying around on the rocks ((( I have a video to share of them too...on my next post))

........just to say we are back safe and sound....we had the BEST time but, it feels good to be home too. I have a TON of picture (and videos) to share .....so stay tuned ;~)

** 2 ** more days!!

Eddie and I will be leaving Friday at 5am to head to the Airport and we will arrive here around 11am (mst). I am excited but at the same time a little nervous about leaving for several reasons.... 1. being I am not too fond of flying (to say the least) 2. I don't like being that far away from my kids 3. not too excited about this

However, I am sure all that will change once I get there. lol!

Avery loves Jesus...

Yes, that is a "fro" on Avery's head. Avery and her daddy were being silly and wearing wigs on their heads....Eddie got to wear the Hannah Montana one of Avery's ( you can see her telling her daddy to put it on) and she wore Eddies from Halloween .

This definitely showcases how much Avery loves to sing.

i.e. Sorry for the bad quality...I am still trying to figure the whole "flip" thing out.

So, that's what I have been dealing with lately.

Aaaak....So excited!!!

So, first I want to share this diaper cake I made for a friends shower I went to last weekend ((my second one)). I thought it turned out pretty cute considering I made it in like...10 min!!

My last one took for-ever!

She is not finding out what she is having so I tried to make it pretty neutral.

Now, on to what I am SO excited about. Eddie just found out that we will be going here in March. I just want to say that I am not only excited about going, but most importantly I am very proud of Eddie and feel he deserves every bit of this and more.

Hand-print fun...

I wanted to share our craft we did the other day...we made hand print caterpillars.

Everything was made with their hands...I can't remember where I saw this but, I thought it was so cute!

I want to make a wall of art work in the kids play room and thought this was a cute way to start it off.

i.e. my kids look SO happy that I am taking a picture of them...don't they?? lol!!
