Sparkle and Shine party...

My girl had a very sparkly, shiny, glittery party for her Ninth birthday.
It was so much fun putting together!
However, I think I'm going to be seeing glitter for weeks!

The cake was amazing! It was a fresh strawberry cake with butter cream icing.

I had some of Avery's favorite appetizers and sparkling grape juice served in my champagne glasses. The girls loved it... almost a little too much! ; )
Then they got to sprinkle their own cupcakes at the "Sparkle Bar".

Each girl made their own sparkly crown out of pipe cleaners then they made a glittery canvas with their initial. I think they all turned out so cute!

After food and crafts the girls got to have a Sparkle dance.....

This party turned out so cute and the girls had a great time! I could not have pulled all this off without the help of my sister and my mom. So Thank you!!

Baking Party...

My baby girl is eight!! It's bitter sweet. I think every mom wishes they would stay little forever and I am no exception.

She is growing into such a beautiful little girl.....full of imagination.

This year she wanted a baking party.

Here they are in their aprons and chef hats.

I had everything set up in "stations". When the girls arrived they got their aprons and decorated their chef hats (that I got for free from the meat department at my local grocery store).
The aprons were made with the help of my MIL and my sister.
My sister and I sewed the ruffle on the bottom and my MIL embroiderd each girls initial on.

The next station was cupcake decorating. They iced and decorated their own cupcakes.  This was Avery's favorite part.
I had to cut out a few things I planned on doing, but overall I was pleased with the way it turned out.

Avery and her friends had fun and that is what's most important.

I could not have pulled this off without the help of my sister....thank you!!

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

She's Seven!!!

On Sunday we celebrated my baby girls Seventh birthday!!
She wanted a party...so we gave her one!!

My sister and I transformed the dinning room into Avery's Sewing Boutique.

it included button cupcakes.....

ribbon, button, embellishments, and more....

the party bags were filled with kid friendly sewing kit and a few other little treats.

I finally got to put my vintage fabric to use!

The girls made a fabric hoop to take home.  We used fabric glue and did some hand stitching.

they all turned out SEW cute!

after cake and ice cream we all played pin the heart on lalaloopsy. (Thanks Heather!)

It was a great day!

Fathers Day Breakfast.....

Just wanted to share a little something I put together for Fathers Day.
I love looking at all the party blogs and try to think of reasons to have a party myself so I can replicate all those pretty decorations ; )
So, what better reason then on..... Fathers Day!

I know it's not "hostess with the mostess" worthy but, It was pretty good for me considering I threw together last minute and only used what I had laying around the house.

I used a basket as my stand for the trophy, which I spray painted from gold to metal (thanks mom) I put some white beans inside it to hold my flags. I made them from Popsicle sticks and craft paper. For the banner I already had some cut out from a previous banner I made and just painted the letters on from stamps.
I made our favorite breakfast casserole, blueberry muffins, and fresh fruit.
Most importantly, he was surprised and loved it!
So there you have it....Our Fathers Day Breakfast!

{Spring Wedding Shower}

My sister had the most beautiful Spring Wedding Shower! She was one lucky girl! The decor, food, company, and gifts were all just perfect.

AND....even the location was not bad either.  I loved this home nestled in the woods right off the river....

ahhhh....I could defiantly see myself taking a nap on that hammock everyday : )   So beautiful!

I am so happy for my sister and thankful that she had this wonderful shower for her upcoming wedding.
I hope everyone has a blessed week!

Dance Recital and Fathers Day....

Saturday, Avery had her dance recital at the Blair school of Dance.

It was a very stressful yet exciting day for us all!

Avery got right out on that stage and did her dance. She surprised us all...considering she normally doesn't move a muscle with her hands sticking in her mouth on observation nights.

Here she is on stage ( you should be able to click to enlarge)

Sunday, we had a cookout for Fathers Day.
It was a great day....heat and all!

This week we are doing swim lessons everyday for 2 weeks.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

The baby shower......

So, I held my first baby shower for a friend(( who is having twins)) today and it went GREAT!!!!

Here are some pictures I wanted to share........

Here is Synetha smelling the diaper...we played "guess the candy bar" game

It's were you get 5-10 different candy bars, melt it and put in a diaper. Then you have to guess what candy bar it is.

Another thing we did was decorate onsies for her with markers.

It was so much fun and supper cute!!

and this is (from right to left) Samantha, Ashley, Synetha, me, and Misty. We were the host for Synetha's shower.
I will post some pictures of decorations soon!!
